P E R S O N A L I T Y;
Lin is a strong, steady woman. She is like the rocks she is so fond of, sturdy, strong, unwavering. However, if you get on her bad side, prepare to stay on it, because she holds a fierce grudge, and isn't keen on forgiveness. She has a relatively jaded outlook on humanity, due to her upbringing, combined with her years on the street.
She rarely laughs, although she has been known to smile. Mostly at her husband, who is one of the few people she is tolerant of on a constant basis.
H I S T O R Y;
Lin Yao was born and raised in a small fishing village south of Beijing in 1963, making her 36 years old. She grew up learning her place in the world, and hating it. She was supposed to be a mother, women were sublevel, the men ruled. She never wanted to just be someone's wife, someone's means of making more sons.
She ran away at thirteen, finding her way to Beijing where she lived on the streets for three years, doing whatever she could to survive. It was in this time that she discovered her affinity for the earth, the way the Mother shielded her, helped her, protected her when she needed protecting. She found she was able to hear the whispers of stone, and that by touching it she could alter its shape, or cause it to spring to life.
She used this to her advantage, for a while, gaining a job making statues and selling them in the marketplace. She was able to gain enough money to move into a shabby apartment building, which is where she met her future husband.
She'd been cold towards his advances at first. She didn't need a man, she was a modern Chinese woman. She could stand on her own two feet. But he was patient with her, and eventually won her affections, by allowing her to see he would let her stand by her own.
They were married when Lin was thirty. She was unable to bear children, they discovered, after she had finally gone to see a doctor about pains in her abdomen. Her ovaries had grown infected, and had to be removed.
Lin had half expected her husband to leave her after that, but had been mistaken. Underestimating humans once, although even with her husband by her side, she still preferred the company of the mother earth, who she felt she was never without.
They moved into a stone house on the outskirts of Beijing, where Lin continues to create stone artwork, and her husband assists, and does various other things.
It was only recently that she heard of her true destiny, although somehow, she'd always suspected that she was to be part of something larger than what her life was.

Her face is Izumi from the anime and Manga Fullmetal Alchemist which is owned by Tokyopop and whoever the hell else and all those fun people.
